Thank you for your interest in joining the rewarding field of health care. This nursing assistant training program is designed to prepare students for an entry level position in nursing homes or other health care agencies. The nursing assistant will be able to perform tasks that provide personal care to residents and support nursing practice. This course prepares the student to successfully complete the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Competency Examination in order to be placed on the Wisconsin Registry as a Certified Nurse Aide.
The 120 hour course consists of classroom study and clinical experience, both held at Clearview. Classroom study involves lectures, audio-visuals, procedure demonstration and return demonstration, and written quizzes on material covered. The student is responsible for attending and successfully participating in all classroom activities.
Starting Wage: $16.42/hour
Must be at least 16 years or older.
Duties: Knowledge of and respect for residents rights and ability to comply with policies and procedures and of state and applicable federal codes Ability to use computer programs for record keeping and reporting and demonstrate techniques of prevention and management of physical crisis Ability to understand and follow written and verbal directions, read and comprehend printed word, perform simple math and comprehend military time and recognize change in residents condition & operate washers & dryers.
*Please note** โ Successful applicants will be paid for training hours as long as they accept at least a Flexi status C.N.A. position with Clearview and remain employed for a year.
If applicants plan to not accept a position as stated above, the applicant will not be paid to take the class and the $350 course fee would required prior to taking class. The course fee of $350 per person includes all needed materials (ex. handbooks) and the state exam fees for both the written and skill sections.
