Structured Literacy Academy for Grades 5-8
Support the Unique Needs of Middle School Readers with Science-aligned Instruction
This two-year academy equips middle school teachers and leaders with the knowledge and tools to design and implement universal instruction grounded in the Science of Reading. Participants will learn how to create inclusive, evidence-based literacy practices that address the diverse needs of all students, with a focus on the essential components of reading โ phonological awareness, decoding, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Through high-leverage instructional routines and teacher tools, educators will explore how to effectively structure lessons, differentiate instruction, and integrate universal supports to ensure every student has the opportunity to become a confident, skilled reader.
