## Intensive Summer Reading Programs: Creating a Cohesive Plan I Apr. 23

**Let us help you create a cohesive plan to provide intensive summer reading instructional services and supports!**

The Wisconsin statutes require that an intensive summer reading program be offered to any student who is promoted from 3rd to 4th grade without completing their personal reading plan. The student should participate until they score at grade-level in reading on a summative assessment. Districts and independent charter schools have flexibility in developing their local intensive summer reading program.

**Benefits**

- Explore considerations for intensive summer reading programs and intensive instruction, progress monitoring and supports: 
    - Systems and planning
    - Strengthening universal instruction
    - Components of a continuum of supports for reading including supports for motivation and engagement.
    - Interventions, instructional practices, and progress monitoring tools to support fluency and comprehension

**Who Should Participate? Teams including:**

- Curriculum & Instruction Directors
- Elementary Principals
- Reading Specialists
- Interventionists
- Special Education Directors

Date:  April 23, 2026  
Time:  8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.  
Location: Fox Valley Technical College, Oshkosh Riverside Campus  
               150 N. Campbell Road  
                Oshkosh, WI 54902

Cost: $215 per participant

Please note that an alternative payment method or purchase order must be received before your registration can be confirmed. All registrations must be finalized before the event date.

Alternative payment methods may be approved under the following circumstances:

- Registration fees exceed $1,000
- A specific funding source is being used (e.g., Title funds)
- Your school district requires use of an internal payment process
