These one-hour virtual think tank sessions are designed for 4K teachers who want to deepen their understanding of structured literacy and explore how its principles apply in 4K settings. Rather than focusing on elementary-only practices, this session centers on the realities of 4K classrooms.

Participants will briefly ground themselves in the core components of structured literacy (phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and text structure) and then engage in collaborative thinking around practical, 4K-appropriate applications. Through guided discussion, shared examples, and problem-solving, teachers will examine how structured literacy can support early readers to build a strong foundation for decoding, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension—without sacrificing a playful approach.
