Literacy Think Tank for Principals: A Virtual Series
Questions? Please contact Amy Ruppert, Program Assistant at aruppert@cesa6.org.
These one-hour virtual think tank experiences are designed for principals who are responsible for leading and sustaining strong literacy instruction in their buildings. These sessions provide a collaborative space for school leaders to deepen their understanding of structured literacy while grappling with the real-world challenges of implementation at the building level.
Each think tank session will offer a brief, focused learning segment on leading literacy. We will make clear what it looks like in classrooms, how it aligns with current research, and what principals should expect to see, hear, and support. The majority of the session will be dedicated to generating solutions around authentic problems of practice, allowing principals to surface challenges related to instruction, systems, staffing, or coherence across grade levels and content areas.
Principals will engage in facilitated dialogue with peers, leveraging collective expertise to generate practical leadership moves and next steps. The networking component allows leaders to connect with colleagues across buildings, share strategies, and build a professional learning community focused on literacy improvement.
