Emergent Storybook Reading immerses students in repeated readings of rich storybooks, purposefully selected using clear criteria. Participants will learn the framework of Emergent Storybook Reading and its predictable, purposeful structure for supporting students’ oral language development, speaking and listening skills, comprehension, understanding of narrative structure, and early concepts of print.
Please contact events@cesa6.org if you have any questions regarding this event.
"Finally, a sustained, collaborative, job-embedded, and classroom-focused PD made JUST for 4K educators! Not only were we learning vital instructional strategies to help our earliest learners thrive, we were also able to connect as a 4K community all year. This is something that really hasn’t been made available until now."
~ Wautoma Area School District Participant
"This has been one of the most useful, relevant, responsive, and meaningful PD experiences I have participated in while teaching 4K! It is best summed up as a “4K all inclusive experience!” The content was perfectly tailored to 4K standards, the information shared was easy to understand and was perfectly balanced between time to work, time to reflect, and time to connect with other 4K teachers. If you teach 4K you know how frustrating it can be to not fit into usual PD sessions, but this pathway is a real game changer for 4K professionals!"
