THIS IS A 2 PART SERIES. PARTICIPANTS MUST ENGAGE IN BOTH SESSIONS TO RECEIVE A CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION 

This 2-PART workshop is designed for developing a common approach and language to suicide prevention through a map of best practices to guide care delivery and communication with colleagues, consumers, and their supports. Participants will join a facilitated learning space to engage with others and based on specially designed video modules taught by clinical and lived experience faculty to explore strategies and approaches for working with youth experiencing suicidal distress. These videos teach, demonstrate, and prompt group interaction around applying suicide prevention best practices day to day with those at risk and their supports. Discussion will be encouraged as part of the learning.

OBJECTIVES (PART ONE) May 12th

• First Two Tasks of the SafeSide Framework for Suicide Prevention is covered:
  1. CONNECT: Clinical and lived experience teaching around overcoming challenges to connection and skills demonstration.
  2. ASSESS: Learn how each team member can contribute to risk assessment as you organize data around eight categories. Then, develop a prevention-orientated formulation that leads naturally to planning.

• Additional: Community Mental Health Professionals working in or collaborating closely with school systems
