This one-day advanced workshop is designed for educators and school staff who already have a foundational understanding of the SIOP Model and are ready to move beyond the basics to strengthen implementation.

Participants will take a deeper dive into all eight components of the SIOP Model, exploring practical ways to intentionally plan, deliver, and assess instruction that makes grade-level content accessible and meaningful for multilingual learners.

Throughout this workshop, participants will examine what effective SIOP implementation looks like in practice, analyze instructional strategies and classroom examples, and consider how the eight components work together to create more comprehensible, engaging, and language-rich learning experiences.

Using the 6th edition of the SIOP Model manual, participants will explore the newest features, updated guidance, and current thinking within the SIOP Model. The workshop will provide opportunities to reflect on current practices and develop actionable strategies for strengthening sheltered instruction in their own classroom, school or district.

• Explore the newest features and guidance in the 6th edition of the SIOP Model manual.
• Examine practical strategies for strengthening SIOP implementation across content areas and grade levels.
• Analyze classroom practices through an advanced SIOP lens and identify opportunities for refinement.
• Strengthen their ability to intentionally integrate content and language development into daily instruction.
• Identify actionable next steps for applying advanced SIOP practices in their own classroom, school or district.

• Educators, instructional coaches, administrators, and other school staff with prior knowledge of the SIOP Model.
• Participants may have previously participated in our 2-day SIOP workshop, but it is not required.
